Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp hailed by pundit after ‘big’ Virgil van Dijk reveal
Paul Robinson has heaped praise on Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and his ability to get players to “settle in quickly” on Merseyside.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one highlighted the success of Ibrahima Konate and Luis Diaz following their arrivals last season.
Konate established himself as a key player for Liverpool last term following his arrival from RB Leipzig in May 2021.
Speaking to club media (25 July), Virgil van Dijk heaped praise on his fellow centre-half and suggested he will get even better with experience.
Van Dijk added that experience is “a big thing” for a centre-back.
Konate is currently sidelined with an injury sustained in a pre-season friendly against Strasbourg.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of Konate’s first year in English football, Robinson said: “Klopp has a knack of getting player to settle in quickly, whether it is on or off the field.
“We have seen it with Konate and we have seen it with Diaz.
“Klopp does his due diligence before a player arrives and then knows how to integrate them into the team. There is not many better out there at doing it than Jurgen Klopp.
“Konate has been exceptional since he has come in. Klopp and his staff have to take major credit for that.
“He is only going to get better as well.”
