Liverpool brace for Salah, Van Dijk and Trent triple exit with latest move
Liverpool do not look entirely confident of keeping three of their exit bound stars based on the latest action.
The Reds have released a 2025 calendar spotlighting three pivotal players, all of whom are nearing the expiration of their contracts, within the first four months of the year.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah, and Virgil van Dijk are all approaching possible exits after starring roles in the club’s recent success, with each’s deal set to expire next summer unless extensions are agreed.
In just six weeks, the three will be eligible to negotiate pre-contract agreements with overseas clubs as they enter the final six months of their deals with Liverpool.
Kop fans anxiously awaiting updates on contract renewals may have given a hint from the club’s latest merchandise. The newly released player calendar features Alexander-Arnold, Salah, and Van Dijk in February, March, and April, respectively.

According to The Liverpool Echo, Salah is eager to stay at Anfield, and talks have begun with Van Dijk’s representatives. However, doubts surround Alexander-Arnold’s future amid ongoing reports of interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid.
As things stand all or none could be at Anfield next term, but the Reds have guarded against fans having to spend a month looking at an ex-star by positioning all three in months before the end of this season.
Arne Slot may yet keep Liverpool trio at Anfield
Of the trio, the most secure seems to be their Egyptian talisman who has been the driving force behind Liverpool’s attack since his arrival in 2017. With 195 goals in 324 appearances for the club, Salah is already a Merseyside legend. This season, his form remains exceptional, with eight goals and six assists in just 11 Premier League appearances.
As a defensive leader, Van Dijk is the foundation of Liverpool’s backline. His composure under pressure, aerial dominance, and ability to read the game elevate those around him. Even as he approaches his 34th birthday, his influence in organising the defence and instilling confidence in his teammates remains irreplaceable. However, the Dutchman’s age may lead the club to offer a shorter-term extension rather than a lengthy commitment.

The local full-back is not just a defender but a creative engine for Liverpool. His vision, pinpoint passing, and ability to dictate play from deep make him a unique asset. Furthermore, Alexander-Arnold has reached over 10 assists in three separate Premier League seasons, a testament to his exceptional quality going forward.
The England international has revolutionised the right-back role, blending defensive responsibilities with midfield creativity. Despite speculation about a move to Real Madrid Trent still seems more likely to stay at Liverpool.
But whatever the relative merits of assuming the trio will remain the club look a long way from convinced.
