Liverpool could ‘agree’ Dayot Upamecano deal within weeks
Liverpool could agree a deal to sign Dayot Upamecano within a matter of weeks due to his current situation.
Arne Slot’s side are struggling massively at the moment, and have lost six of their last seven games in all competitions.
The Reds now sit seventh in the Premier League table and are already seven points adrift of league leaders Arsenal.
In recent times, Liverpool’s defence has been criticised, and it is an area of concern heading into the January transfer window.

Liverpool tipped to ‘steal’ Dayot Upamecano
Liverpool have been heavily linked with Upamecano since the summer transfer window, with the Frenchman’s contract expiring at the end of the season.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that the Reds could tie the defender down within the coming weeks.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that Liverpool have the chance to secure Upamecano on a pre-contract agreement from the start of January.
Wyness added that the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City will also be in the race for his signature.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “It really would be a steal, but the usual suspects, Chelsea and Manchester City, are also after him, he is really highly rated.
“That seems to be the name of the game now, clubs trying to get players who are coming up within a year or two years of their contract, then trying to work out a way to get them on a free transfer.
“He would be a great steal, and while Liverpool are linked, there is some competition in terms of other clubs looking at him as well. He is going to be sought after. He’s performing very well this season, and he will be one of those who could sign a pre-contract in January.”
Ibrahima Konate could be leaving Liverpool
Meanwhile, Ibrahima Konate has rejected a new Liverpool contract and is moving closer to an exit from the club, sources have told Football Insider.

The 26-year-old’s future on Merseyside is in doubt as his current deal expires at the end of the season.
Talks over an extension to the centre-back’s contract have not progressed, and there is now a growing expectation that he will leave in the summer.
Konate has been linked to Real Madrid in recent months, and that interest is believed by sources to be “concrete”.
