Liverpool could get deal ‘over the line’ for Marcelo Brozovic amid journalist’s update – pundit

Paul Robinson has suggested Liverpool could get a deal for Marcelo Brozovic “over the line” prior to the transfer window shutting.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one said “there is plenty of time left” to complete what would be a difficult deal for the 29-year-old.

The Reds have been linked with a move for Inter Milan midfielder Brozovic following injuries to Thiago Alcantara, Curtis Jones and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

However, according to Fabrizio Romano, via the Liverpool Echo (9 August), Brozovic is “untouchable” for Inter Milan after extending his contract earlier this year.

Robinson believes a deal could still be done if the money is right.

“That’s not a simple deal to do,” he told Football Insider.

“There is plenty of time in the window left though. If they want to do a deal for Brozovic, they can get it over the line before the window closes.

“They will have already done their due diligence on players like Brozovic. I’m sure there is a few midfielders they are looking at.

“Prior to Thiago’s injury, I’m sure Jurgen Klopp was done. I don’t think he had any intention of signing a midfielder. I just wonder now if a file has been opened given the current injury situation and the way they have started the season.

“They might just have a look at what is available and what they can get over the line in the next week or so. I think they are light in that position at the moment.”
