Liverpool could now sell trio for ‘£300m’ to Saudi clubs – Keith Wyness
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has insisted Liverpool will not be concerned about their profitability as they still have genuine assets on the books.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – claimed the trio of Alisson, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah could fetch £300million from Saudi Pro League clubs combined.
Liverpool posted a pre-tax loss of £9million for the 2022-23 season in February after a dismal campaign and ongoing development in the Anfield Road Stand.
Commercial revenue rose by £25million to £272million for that season to become the biggest revenue source across the club’s main three income streams.
Saudi clubs have been linked with Van Dijk and Salah in recent transfer windows as their contracts at Anfield continue to run down and the pair enter the twilight years of their careers.
Meanwhile, Alisson has also been a target in the Middle East and Liverpool have already moved to sign Giorgi Mamadarshvili ahead of 2025’s summer window.
Liverpool could boost profits with Alisson, Van Dijk and Salah sales, says Wyness
Wyness told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “A lot of their genuine assets – like Alisson, Van Dijk or Salah – they can get some cash for them pretty quickly if they wanted to.“
“There’s probably about £300million worth of players in those three alone, there is interest in Saudi.
“They’ve got assets they can still sell if profitability is a concern for them.
“FSG have done a great job building Anfield up.

“Yes, Liverpool could be more profitable. But they’re doing all they can to drive fan engagement all over the world and tailor experiences in each country.
“That’s where they’re making a big push going forward.”
