Liverpool could seal ‘perfect’ Adeyemi signing after Romano latest – pundit

Red Bull Salzburg forward Karim-David Adeyemi would be “the perfect signing” for Liverpool next year, according to Kevin Campbell.

The ex-Premier League striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, is adamant Anfield would be the ideal place for the 19-year-old to develop.

According to Fabrizio Romano (14 December), Liverpool have contacted the young forward over a move.

However, Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund are said to be leading the chase for the teenager who could follow the path trod by Erling Haaland.

On Monday, as quoted by Anfield Watch (13 December), Klopp hailed Adeyemi “one of the most exciting attacking wingers in football”.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of the latest, Campbell said: “Adeyemi would be perfect.

“At 19, he is the perfect age.

“He is playing regularly at Salzburg, yes, but at Liverpool he will be allowed to develop at his own pace. He wouldn’t be a regular starter but he would have time to develop. I think it would be a good move for him.

“He will be on the bench, come on and learn from some of the best forwards in the world. The fans will take to him, I’m sure. I can see a natural progression for him at Liverpool.

“When you sign players who are internationally, who need to play to keep their spots internationally, it is difficult to persuade them to join and sit on the bench. Adeyemi would be the perfect signing.”

Adeyemi has been Red Bull Salzburg’s standout performer this season.

He has contributed 18 goals and four assists in 28 appearances across all competitions.
