Sources: Liverpool fear Luis Diaz ‘out for months’ amid development today
Liverpool fear Luis Diaz is “out for months” after left Emirates Stadium on crutches and with his knee in a brace, sources have told Football Insider.
The wide forward was subbed 42 minutes into the Merseysiders’ 3-2 Premier League defeat to Arsenal on Sunday following a tussle with Thomas Partey.
The injury did not initially appear to be too serious as Diaz was able to walk off the pitch before heading to the changing room for treatment.

But the Colombia international was subsequently seen leaving the stadium on crutches and with his knee in heavy strapping.
Liverpool medical staff fear Diaz could be sidelined for months, potentially until after the World Cup, should he have suffered ligament damage.
He is set for scans on his knee, potentially on Monday, to assess the extent of the damage before rehabilitation begins.
Losing Diaz for an extended period would be catastrophic for Liverpool given his importance to the team’s attacking play.
He has been a shining light since signing from Porto in January for a fee of around £50million and has arguably been the team’s outstanding performer this season.
Liverpool were a notably far less effective attacking unit following his withdrawal on Sunday, which came shortly after he had set up the first equaliser for Darwin Nunez.
Diaz was not the only high-profile injury for Klopp’s side on a wretched day.

Trent Alexander-Arnold was also substituted at half-time with an injury following a tussle at the end of the first period.
Speaking to BBC Sport after the final whistle, Jurgen Klopp said: “He [Alexander-Arnold] is injured unfortunately. Like Luis Diaz as well, it doesn’t look good for both. That is the icing on the cake.”
