Liverpool Exclusive: PSV Eindhoven submitting new Van den Berg bid
PSV Eindhoven are preparing to submit a new Sepp van den Berg offer before the transfer deadline, sources have told Football Insider.
The Premier League giants rejected an £8.4million offer from the Dutch Eredivisie club earlier in the window for the centre-back.
PSV are still keen on signing Van den Berg, and are preparing an improved offer for the centre-back, 22.
The offer is still set to fall well short of Liverpool’s £20million valuation for player and it remains to be seen if they are willing to lower their demands.
Football Insider previously revealed that the Merseysiders are willing to let Van den Berg go permanently but will refuse to let him go cheaply.
The Dutch footballer, who initially joined Liverpool in 2019, will be used to provide backup and competition to the other centre-backs at the club.
PSV Eindhoven are still interested in Sepp van den Berg
PSV Eindhoven remains interested in the Liverpool defender, but the fact that sporting director Richard Hughes does value him so highly will make the deal hard to accomplish.
Van den Berg has only made four appearances for Liverpool’s first team since he joined the club, having failed to establish himself.
He spent last season out on loan at FSV Mainz 05 where he was given the chance to play regularly, making 36 appearances where he scored three goals.

Liverpool are looking to tie down another central defender to a long-term contract as they’re likely to hold talks with Virgil van Dijk towards the end of this year.
