Liverpool expected to secure £30m windfall after Sky update on Takumi Minamino and teammate – pundit

Kevin Campbell expects Liverpool to recoup £30million from the sales of Takumi Minamino and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker is adamant teams will “take a chance” on the two attackers.

Minamino, 27, and Oxlade-Chamberlain, 28, struggled for game time in the 2021-22 campaign.

The latter has just over 12 months remaining on his contract at Anfield.

According to Sky Sports‘ Vinny O’Connor (31 May), Liverpool’s midfield recruitment plans likely hinge on the future of the aforementioned players.

When asked by Football Insider as to how much the Reds could raise from the two players’ exits, Campbell said: “I think they could get £30million for them both. That is about right.

“Minamino has done pretty well when he has come in. He went on loan and did alright and has been an important squad member since coming back.

“In regards to Oxlade-Chamberlain, when he has played he has not done too badly. He has just struggled with injuries.

“He has been fit for a period though but hasn’t been given an opportunity to play.

“I think £15million each is about right. They are quality players who have not played a lot of football.

“I’m sure teams will take the chance on them. I have no doubt.”

Minamino scored 10 goals in 24 appearances in the 2021-22 campaign.

Oxlade-Chamberlain contributed three goals and three assists in his 29 appearances.
