Liverpool face fresh Marc Guehi setback as European giants prepare offer
Bayern Munich have entered the race to sign Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi on a free transfer next summer.
The Bavarian club’s interest in the defender comes after Liverpool’s deadline day move for Guehi collapsed on Monday, 1 September.
Arne Slot’s side were set to sign the England international after he helped Palace beat the Reds in last month’s Community Shield.
Meanwhile, Football Insider have exclusively revealed that Liverpool are set to reignite their interest in Guehi in the January transfer window.

Liverpool face fresh concern as Bayern Munich enter Marc Guehi race
While the Anfield outfit missed out on Guehi, Liverpool successfully signed Alexander Isak from Newcastle United.
The Sweden striker is set to ensure that Slot boasts an even more dangerous attack as the Merseyside club vie to retain their Premier League title.
However, Liverpool’s chances of bolstering their defence by signing Guehi from Crystal Palace in the future have taken a fresh blow.
TalkSPORT revealed via Instagram on Tuesday, 2 September, that Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are interested in signing the 25-year-old at the end of the season, when he is available on a free transfer.
Marc Guehi should favour Anfield switch over Bayern Munich move
Football Insider verdict
While Guehi is staying at Palace, at least until January, he should remain intent on joining Liverpool, rather than having his attention diverted by Bayern Munich’s interest.

The defender’s performances with the Eagles have proven that he is one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League, while a move to the North West would not mean that he would have to adjust to a new division.
Furthermore, the Reds need to bolster their backline, having conceded four goals in their first three top-flight games this term, even though they kept a clean sheet against Arsenal.
By excelling in the Premier League, Guehi has ensured that he is now a regular feature in the England team.
Meanwhile, the presence of talented centre-backs like Jonathan Tah, Min-Jae Kim, and Dayot Upamecano at Bayern could see Guehi struggle for game time for Vincent Kompany’s men.
Contrastingly, Liverpool’s early showings this term prove that the Eagles man would be an upgrade on Ibrahima Konate.
