‘Liverpool face loss of 7-figure Robertson fee as Atletico eye Aston Villa’s Digne’
Liverpool are at risk of missing out on a financial windfall on Andy Robertson as Atletico Madrid turn their attention to Lucas Digne.
The Reds have already lost one first-choice full-back on the cheap this summer, with Trent Alexander-Arnold joining Real Madrid after his contract at Anfield ran down.
With the transfer window now open again, Robertson has been linked with a move to Atletico Madrid this summer.
Diego Simeone’s side will be looking to strengthen the left-back area, with Crystal Palace transfer target Reinildo looking set to leave as his contract expires.

Lucas Digne on Atletico Madrid transfer radar
According to a new update from The Times, the La Liga outfit have placed Digne on a list of alternative targets to Robertson for the summer window.
Earlier this season, it was reported that Aston Villa are due to hold contract talks with Digne this summer, with his current contract at the club due to expire at the end of next season.
Robertson is of course in the same boat at Liverpool, with his deal at Anfield also set to expire in the summer of 2026.
That of course means the Reds could be at risk of losing the left-back for free this time next year, if he is not sold in the current transfer window, or for even less in January.
If Atletico do move for Digne over Robertson, that could cost Liverpool a seven-figure fee, with it stated that the Spanish side would look to pay as little as €5million (£4.2million) for the Scotland captain.

Liverpool will have mixed feelings over Andy Robertson update
Football Insider Verdict
Given how popular a figure he has become at Anfield, there are plenty connected with the Reds who would surely not mind if Robertson was to stay for next season.
Indeed, when considering the size of the deals they are involved in and the money they bring in from other outlets, a fee of £4.2million is a relatively small one to miss out on.
However, it is worth noting that Milos Kerkez looks set to join Liverpool from Bournemouth this summer, with a deal seemingly moving closer.
Should he join, then the Hungarian will no doubt become first choice at left-back for Arne Slot’s side before too long next season, and Robertson’s involvement would become more limited.
In that scenario, selling the 31-year-old this summer when they can still get something for him, may seem a better option than more uncertainty over contracts for another year.
As a result, there is plenty for those in charge at Liverpool to weigh up in the wake of this latest transfer update.
