Liverpool fans absolutely stunned by ‘incredible’ Caoimhin Kelleher footage

Liverpool fans were amazed by Caoimhin Kelleher’s “unbelievable” performance in their League Cup final victory against Chelsea on Sunday afternoon (25 February).

The Reds lifted the trophy, their second in three seasons, with a 1-0 win thanks to a Virgil van Dijk header in the closing minutes of extra time – but they could have easily lost in regular time if their goalkeeper hadn’t put in a “world-class” shift.

Kelleher has been number two behind Alisson for a number of seasons, but has admirably filled in amid the Brazilian’s injury and has started all the Reds’ League Cup games this season.

He made numerous outstanding saves to keep the high-octane Blues at bay, including a heroic close-range double save in the 22nd minute and a one-on-one stop from Conor Gallagher’s strike in the 85th minute.

Liverpool fans have hailed Caoimhin Kelleher for his outstanding contribution to their League Cup triumph

Across the 120 minutes of action, he made nine saves, six saves from inside the box and kept a clean sheet despite a barrage of Chelsea shots.

Elated supporters have taken to social media to hail his “beautiful” outing, and one fan even dubbed him the “best goalkeeper in the world”.
