Liverpool fans all say same thing about Cole Palmer signing after what they saw today

Liverpool fans are calling for the club to sign Cole Palmer after his performance in the clash v Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Arne Slot’s side fell to a 3-1 defeat on the road, after Enzo Fernandez’s third-minute effort gave the Blues the lead which they held into half-time.

A Jarell Quansah own-goal doubled the hosts’ lead after the break, before Virgil van Dijk pulled one back to give his side hope, only for a late Palmer penalty to seal the result.

It was Palmer’s performance which emerged as the game’s biggest talking point as he ended a 16-game run without scoring and put on a hugely impressive display.

Such was the standard of his performance, that even the travelling Liverpool supporters were full of praise for the England international.

Some went as far as to urge the club to make a move for him this summer as they aim to improve their squad in the wake of their Premier League title win.

Chelsea could lose Cole Palmer after transfer twist

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 15 April that Palmer could leave Chelsea this summer amid concerns about his role under Enzo Maresca.

Brown explained that the 22-year-old could be tempted to leave if an official offer is made, in an effort to rediscover his previous form.

Palmer has now recorded 15 goals and eight assists in 31 Premier League games under Maresca but had struggled with inconstant displays before the Liveropol clash.

Meanwhile, Paul Merson previously warned Palmer could leave Chelsea if they miss out on Champions League football – although they have taken a large stride towards that goal.

Maresca’s side have moved level on points with Newcastle and three points clear of Nottingham Forest, who face Crystal Palace on Monday night, with just three games left to play.

Chelsea fans have previously called for Maresca’s sacking as a result of Palmer’s poor run of form, with the manager blamed for his dip in performances.

However, his return to form against Liverpool has set tongues wagging once more, and Liverpool fans are now suggested they could bring him to Anfield.
