Liverpool fans ‘amazed’ by Rodrygo news after ‘Jude Bellingham sparks issue’

Liverpool fans have been given encouragement that Arne Slot can pull off a move for want-away Real Madrid forward Rodrygo this summer.

Slot‘s side wrapped up the Premier League title with four games to spare and have just one more game to play before Virgil van Dijk lifts the trophy aloft at Anfield, when the Reds host Crystal Palace on the final day.

Real Madrid‘s own movement in the transfer market has somewhat overshadowed Liverpool’s celebrations, after Trent Alexander-Arnold confirmed he will leave Anfield with a switch to the Santiago Bernabeu likely.

However, Liverpool could be set to bring one player in the opposite direction as Rodrygo eyes the exit door in the Spanish capital, and developments concerning his team-mate Jude Bellingham could open the door.

Real Madrid could lose Bellingham amid Rodrygo exit talks

With Rodrygo potentially bound for the exit door Arsenal are keen to make a “real statement” and sign the Brazilian ahead of Liverpool.

It has been reported that Rodrygo has decided he does not want to play for Real Madrid again due to an issue involving Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe.

The Brazilian, 24, refused to play during Sunday’s huge El Clasico clash at the Nou Camp after expressing his desire to leave the club in the summer.

According to Marca, the media explosion surrounding Bellingham and Mbappe has led to Rodrygo feeling displaced at the Bernabeu, with the forward having once hoped to share the leading role alongside fellow Brazilian Vinicius Jr.

Rodrygo’s fall in the pecking order is seen as a key reason behind his desire to seek pastures new this summer, and that has alerted both Liverpool and Arsenal to his availability.

Liverpool fans react to ‘amazing’ Rodrygo transfer update

Liverpool’s interest in Madrid’s number 11 goes back several years and Jurgen Klopp was interested in a teenage Rodrygo during his time at Santos, but a big-money move for the winger could now come to pass.

Fans have been encouraged by the Brazilian’s desire to leave Madrid and one said the prospect of Luis Diaz and Rodrygo as left-wing options would be “amazing”, and that the latter has “Liverpool written all over him”.

Other supporters went even further and urged Liverpool to sell their current crop of left wingers such as Diaz in order to fund a move for Rodrygo, who is set to cost interest clubs north of £80million this summer.
