Liverpool fans beg club not to sign reported summer target

By Dominic Toner

Liverpool fans have urged the club not to sign their reported transfer target Joe Hart.

The Daily Mirror claim that the Reds are monitoring the 29-year-old goalkeeper ahead of a summer move.

The report details that the Merseyside club are watching the developments of the England international, who is currently on a season-long loan at Torino from Manchester City.

Hart was shipped out of the Etihad Stadium in the summer by Pep Guardiola after concerns about his ability in possession.

He is looking to rebuild his career during his loan spell in Italy, but he is still regarded as the first-choice goalkeeper for England.

The shot stopper completed 90 minutes on Sunday in a 2-0 victory against Lithuania and was guilty of nearly gifting a soft goal to the European minnows.

Liverpool fans have pleaded with the club that they don’t press ahead and complete a summer move for Hart.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Liverpool currently have Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet as their goalkeeping options, but manager Jurgen Klopp has switched between the pair this season.

Mignolet has established himself as the number one in recent months, but many Liverpool fans feel they need a new number one in the summer.

Hart is an experienced player in the Premier League and has made 302 top-flight appearances during spells with Man City and Birmingham.

The goalkeeper has been eyed up as a potential replacement at Anfield, but fans clearly feel he will not bring any extra quality to the squad.
