Liverpool fans have blasted Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford for his first-half antics in the 1-1 draw against Swansea at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Reds supporters claim that the Man United player dived to win a penalty against the struggling Swans and want to know why the media refuse to acknowledge an English player for cheating.

The 19-year-old didn’t appear to make any contact with goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski before he started to go to ground.

Wayne Rooney dispatched the spot-kick to put Jose Mourinho’s side ahead.

The result of the game could have had a big impact on Liverpool’s chances of qualifying for next season’s Champions League if Man United went on to win.

Three points would have meant that the Merseyside club were knocked down to fourth in the Premier League table.

However Gylfi Sigurdsson second-half free-kick levelled the scores, much to Liverpool’s relief, as they will stay in third place for the time being.

Manchester City have the chance to move above the Merseysiders if they beat Middlesbrough on Sunday.

Liverpool fans on Twitter were understandably furious with the decision that could have led to major implications on what European competition they will be taking part in next season.

No matter what happens in Sunday’s fixtures, Liverpool can return to third place if they can win at Watford on Monday.

However the chasing pack of United, City and Arsenal will still have games in hand on the Reds.
