Liverpool fans demand 23-year-old fringe player starts against Tottenham

Liverpool fans have rallied on Twitter to demand that Loris Karius is recalled to the starting line-up against Tottenham.

The 23-year-old has been the club’s second-choice goalkeeper recently as Simon Mingolet has been preferred by manager Jurgen Klopp.

However, Mignolet has made two high profile mistakes recently in the defeat to Hull and the draw against Chelsea.

The Reds host top four rivals Spurs on Saturday in the Premier League at Anfield and Klopp has a major decision to make on who will start in goal.

Liverpool fans believe it’s time for fringe player Karius to get a chance to regain his place for the number one role, with the German already struggling in the Premier League this season and losing his place.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Liverpool have found their goalkeeper position to be a bit of a problem area this season and Klopp has switched between his two options.

The Merseyside club had become accustomed to simply outscoring teams at the beginning of the season, but have hit poor form since the New Year.

Klopp’s side have won just once in their last 10 games across all competitions and will be under severe pressure against Spurs to bounce back.

Karius has not feature in the Premier League since 11 December against West Ham and may get his chance to return for Spurs.
