Liverpool fans destroy defender on Twitter after display against West Brom
By Harvey Byrne
Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren played the full 90 minutes in the Reds’ 1-0 victory over West Brom on Sunday, but fans of the English giants were far from impressed.
The 27-year-old played in a back four alongside Joel Matip, but while the latter was hailed for his calmness on the ball, Lovren received different treatment from the fans.
Many sections of the Reds’ fan base on social media slammed the Croatia international’s poor passing, while others felt that he let Hal Robson-Kanu through too easily early on in the match.
One fan asked how Lovren made it as a professional player, while another believed it was “madness” that the club were even contemplating giving him a new deal.
Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Lovren and Milner have been a bit stale today, but Origi and Matip have been class. Gini needs to get on the ball more as well. #LFC

Madness that we're even contemplating giving Lovren a new contract never mid more money #LFC

If Lovren gets a new contract, there should be a clause stating he can't pass it more than 10 yards. #LFC

You can unsettle Lovren just by shouting at him. His lack of composure is ridiculous. #lfc

If Lovren could stop playing 70yarders to their back 4 that would be swell. Cheers
