Liverpool fans destroy hopeless duo after defeat against Crystal Palace
By Amir Mir
Liverpool were beaten 2-1 by Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon at Anfield – and fans on Twitter destroyed the hopeless duo of Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip.
Philippe Coutinho opened the scoring for the home team in the first half when his free-kick was too good for the Palace keeper.
However, just before the break, Christian Benteke scored against his former club when he was left unmarked in the penalty area.
The Liverpool defensive line was caught out as Yohan Cabaye delivered a brilliant cross for Benteke to slot home.
Benteke then netted the winner in the second half after he was once again left unmarked in the box as he headed home from a set-piece situation.

Fans were not pleased with Matip’s or Lovren’s positioning as Klopp’s side conceded yet again this season.
The Anfield faithful destroyed the hopeless duo, who were too weak, out of position or simply couldn’t deal with the aerial threat of Palace.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Madness. The positioning was awful. Carragher was spot on with his assessment of the goal. Lovren positioning awful. Matip too slow.

Former Southampton player Lovren has played 28 games in all competitions for his side, helping his side record nine clean sheets during that period.
He has only managed to play 25 league matches for his team this term, but that has been down to injuries as he has been a regular feature when fit and ready.
By contrast, his centre-back partner, Matip has featured on 28 occasions over the course of the campaign where he has helped the Reds to seven clean sheets.
The Cameroon international moved to Anfield in the summer when Klopp purchased the former Bundesliga player on a free transfer.
