Liverpool fans rage at Jeremy Doku’s new Man City confession – ‘Make it 116 charges’

Liverpool fans have slaughtered Jeremy Doku for claiming his challenge on Alexis Mac Allister in their Man City clash earlier this month was not a penalty.

While on international duty with Belgium, the winger was questioned about the controversial in-the-box high boot tackle into Mac Allister’s chest on 10 March.

Doku, 21, admitted it was a “risky challenge” that he could have dealt with differently, but was adamant that the subsequent VAR check late into stoppage time came to the right decision to not award a penalty.

The Reds came back from behind to secure a point in the 1-1 draw at Anfield thanks to Mac Allister’s 50th-minute penalty, but many supporters were furious that they were denied a late chance to take all three points in the tight title race.

Doku also noted that he understood why Liverpool fans would think the challenge warranted a spot-kick but reiterated no less than four times that the decision was correct.

Liverpool supporters have taken to social media to react to the “cheat’s” admission, and one fan feels Doku’s response is bad enough that Man City’s pending 115 financial charges should be upped to 116.
