Liverpool fans react on Twiiter to Origi display v Plymouth

By Dominic Toner

Divock Origi played the full 90 minutes for Liverpool in the 1-0 win against Plymouth – and the club’s supporters were highly critical of his performance on Twitter.

The Merseyside club managed to scrape through their FA Cup third-round replay at Plymouth, with defender Lucas scoring a rare goal via a powerful header from a corner.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have now booked their place in the next round where they will host Championship side Wolves and several of the club’s youngsters were given a run out against Plymouth.

Origi had the chance to finish the tie late on with a penalty, but his weak effort down the middle of the goal was saved.

Liverpool fans have highlighted the display of Origi and feel that he struggled all game.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Origi has found himself in the starting XI recently and began the match at the weekend against Manchester United, with Daniel Sturridge named on the bench.

However, he may find his position under threat after failing to really test the Plymouth goal and he is in poor goalscoring form recently.

The 21-year-old has not scored since the 14 December against Middlesbrough and is in desperate need of ending his goal drought.

He has been given a good opportunity to impress while team-mate Sadio Mane is at the Africa Cup of Nations, but has been unable to impress supporters.

In other Liverpool news, a London side have joined the chase to sign the club’s defender.
