Liverpool fans react on Twitter as club unveil latest summer signing
By Harvey Byrne
Liverpool have announced their fifth summer signing in the form of defender Ragnar Klavan – and their fans took to Twitter to discuss the international’s signing.
The official Liverpool website announced on Wednesday afternoon that the club had completed the signing of the 30-year-old Estonia international from FC Augsburg on a long-term contract.
Klavan has more than 100 caps for his country, and at 30, has the knowledge and maturity manager Jurgen Klopp is looking for to replace veteran duo Martin Skrtel and Kolo Toure, who have left in the last month.
Klopp will be without both Mamadou Sakho and Joe Gomez for the start of the season after they both fell victim to Achilles problems, and the German acted swiftly as he looked to cover the two senior stars.
The Liverpool manager has already been busy in his first summer at the club and has brought in Joel Matip, Loris Karius, Marko Grujic and Sadio Mane into the ranks, with Klavan being signing number give.
Liverpool fans seem curious about the relatively unknown new signing but they are excited about what he has to offer.
Here are a few of their messages on Twitter:
