Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Alexander-Arnold display v Plymouth

By Dominic Toner

Trent Alexander-Arnold played the full 90 minutes for Liverpool on Wednesday night – and the club’s supporters were thrilled on Twitter with his performance.

The 18-year-old delivered a strong display in Liverpool’s 1-0 victory against Plymouth in the FA Cup third-round replay at Home Park.

He showcased both his defensive and attacking qualities, with a number of last minute tackles to save his side from a cup upset.

Liverpool won the match through unlikely goalscorer Lucas, with the defender heading in the winner during the first-half from a corner.

They will face Championship side Wolves in the fourth-round at Anfield, but now turn their attention to a Premier League clash with Swansea at the weekend.

Alexander-Arnold has been tipped to become a future great at the Merseyside club and he has shown recently why that is the case.

The right-back made his first Premier League start against Manchester United at the weekend as first-choice Nathaniel Clyne missed out with a rib injury.

He looked completed assured in the highly anticipated match and once again proven against Plymouth what great composure he has for a young player.

Alexander-Arnold will now hope to feature in the first-team on a more regular basis and manager Jurgen Klopp could have a selection headache for future matches.

In other Liverpool news, a London side have joined the chase to sign the club’s defender.
