Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Dele Alli petulance in Tottenham clash
By Tom Blackburn
Liverpool fans have voiced their discontent at Dele Alli on Twitter after what they saw as a petulant display in the 1-1 draw against Tottenham on Saturday.
The midfielder had a heated exchange late on in the White Hart Lane with Liverpool midfielder Roberto Firmino, with some fans accusing the England international of a deliberate stamp.
Alli, restored to the Tottenham starting XI after being a substitute in the 1-0 win over Crystal Palace last Saturday, had a poor game and picked up a yellow card shortly after the spat with Firmino for kicking the ball away.
It’s not the first time this season Alli has struggled to make an impact, and Spurs fans will be hoping he lives up to the promise of last season.
The 20-year-old was one of the shining lights for Spurs as they pushed for the 2015-16 Premier League title, and he was crowned PFA Young Player of the Year.
Liverpool fans weren’t impressed with what they saw and vented on Twitter shortly after full-time.
