Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Klavan starting v Arsenal

Liverpool defender Ragnar Klavan has been recalled to the starting line-up against Arsenal – and the club’s supporters are concerned on Twitter about the decision.

The Reds host top four rivals Arsenal in the Premier League and will move temporarily into third with a victory.

Jurgen Klopp has decided to make one alteration to the team that suffered a 3-1 defeat against Leicester in their last game.

Klavan has come into the side for Lucas at centre-back and will hope to bring some more defensive solidity.

Liverpool fans have voiced their worry that Klavan is starting against the Gunners and feel he is a liability.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Klavan has been a fringe player for the Merseyside club this season and has struggled to establish a regular position following his £4million arrival in the summer.

The 31-year-old is extremely dominant in the air, but has been caught out by pacy attackers in the past.

He will partner Joel Matip at centre-back, while Dejan Lovren is only fit enough for the bench as he returns from injury.

Klavan will be desperate to impress Klopp with a solid performance against league rivals and play a vital role until the end of the season in their pursuit of a Champions League spot.
