Adam Lallana has still yet to open his England goal account but he produced another promising display in the team’s 1-1 draw against Holland on Tuesday night.
The Liverpool attacking midfielder played a major hand in Jamie Vardy’s opener with a delightful feint that wrong-footed the defence before passing to Kyle Walker, who squared for the Leicester striker to score his second goal in consecutive matches.
Lallana was one of only three England players – along with Chris Smalling and Danny Rose – to start both Saturday’s 3-2 win over Germany and the friendly clash against Holland.
He played 69 minutes at a sell-out Wembley, lining up on the right side of midfield, but was unable to break his England duck on his 20th international appearance.
By contrast, he has scored five times and weighed in with eight assists in 38 matches for Liverpool this season.
After the match Football Insider took to Twitter to see what Liverpool supporters thought of Lallana’s performance and you can see a selection below:
Lallana MOTM for me. He was brilliant, most of England’s chances came from him!

Meanwhile, Lallana comes off. Looked one of England’s best tonight, which of course he has for Liverpool too of late.

Lallana was the best player on the pitch by a mile

Götze coming in won’t have a big impact on Lallana imo. Think he’ll still play big role for LFC next season.
