Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Lovren being axed v Manchester City
By Derek Smithson
Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has been dropped from the starting line-up against Manchester City – and the club’s supporters have given mixed responses on Twitter to the selection choice.
Jurgen Klopp has decided to make three changes to his starting XI from the team that beat Arsenal 4-0 before the international break.
Simon Mignolet, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ragnar Klavan have come into the side for the trip to the Etihad Stadium.
That means Loris Karius, Joe Gomez and Lovren are the players to drop out against Man City despite their roles in the win over Arsenal.
Lovren has started two of the there Premier League games so far this season, but will once again have to make do with a place on the bench.

I'm a bit concerned klavan is playing ahead of lovren. For me lovren is the better defender. #lfc

Don't understand the chopping and changing on keepers. It unsettles the defenders. Lovren hasn't been great but Klavan?? #LFC

Lovren has constantly split fans during his time at Anfield despite racking up 114 appearances for them.
The Croatia international is usually criticised for his positioning and Klavan has been given the chance on Saturday to impress manager Klopp.
Liverpool centre-back Joel Matip appears to have cemented his spot in the starting XI and he is now waiting to find a settled partner to play alongside him.
The Merseyside club will know they need to be at their best to keep out a dangerous Man City strike-force of Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Aguero, with the latter scoring in his last five consecutive league games against Liverpool.
In other Liverpool team news, Jamie Redknapp believes this attacker will scare Man City stiff.
