Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Manchester United humiliation

Manchester United suffered a heavy Premier League defeat on Sunday – and Liverpool fans expressed their delight on Twitter with the result.

United were stunned 4-0 by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and remain seventh-placed in the table.

Pedro and Gary Cahill scored first-half goals to put Chelsea in the driving seat, with Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante completing the rout after the break.

Jose Mourinho endured a horror return to Chelsea, the club he won three Premier League title’s with.

Liverpool supporters could not help but celebrate a heavy defeat to their rivals, who face an uphill battle to get back in the title race.

Liverpool have enjoyed a fantastic weekend of Premier League results and are now third-placed in the table, with rivals Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham all dropping points.

United remain seventh in the table and are already six points off current league leaders and rivals City.

The pair meet each other midweek in the EFL Cup fourth-round and Mourinho will then turn his attention back to the league with a home game against Burnley.

In other Liverpool news, the club could hand a shock start to a forgotten player against Tottenham.
