Liverpool are reportedly interested in Leicester City winger Demarai Gray – and the club’s supporters were divided on Twitter about his potential signing.
The Daily Mail claim that the Reds are monitoring the 20-year-old as Jurgen Klopp prepares to add two wingers to his squad in the summer, with Bayer Leverkusen’s Julian Brandt another target.
Gray has been adjusting to top-flight football since his move to Leicester 13 months ago and earned an unlikely Premier League title medal last season.
The pacy attacker is usually used in a wide position, but has also been deployed as a striker this season by manager Claudio Ranieri.
Liverpool fans have voiced contrasting opinions about the clubs interest in Gray as some feel the youngster has great potential, while other feels they should be targeting players of a higher calibre.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Gray completed a move to the King Power Stadium last season from Birmingham and is still trying to cement his position in the starting XI with the Foxes.
The attacker has made steady progress this campaign, with 27 senior appearances across all competitions.
He has managed just two goals this season as he tries to improve in front of goal, but they have both been fantastic finishes.
The England Under-21 international struck a sensational long-range consolation in a defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford in September.
Gray showed another glimpse of his potential on Wednesday night in the FA Cup win over Derby as he scored a fantastic individual goal by ghosting past defenders, before clinically finishing into the foot of the net.
Klopp certainly looks keen to bolster his options in the summer and highly rated Gray could be offered the chance to contiue his development at Anfield.
