Liverpool fans react to what ‘ruthless’ Arne Slot did to Milos Kerkez against Burnley
Liverpool supporters have responded to Arne Slot’s decision to sub off Milos Kerkez in the first half of their Premier League win over Burnley.
In their fourth top-flight game of the season, Liverpool travelled to take on Burnley at Turf Moor, having previously enjoyed three consecutive wins over Bournemouth, Newcastle United, and Arsenal.
The Reds emerged as 1-0 victors, thanks to Mohamed Salah’s 95th minute penalty, following a handball comitted by Hannibal Mejbri.
Arne Slot utilised the summer transfer window to reshuffle his defence, with Jeremie Frimpong, Kerkez, and Giovanni Leoni all joining from Bayer Leverkusen, Bournemouth, and Parma, respectively.
Since Kerkez joined Liverpool from Bournemouth, the left-back has started in all four of the Reds’ Premier League games, but he was omitted from the action in the 38th minute of their clash with Burnley.
The 21-year-old was replaced by Andy Robertson, having previously been shown a yellow card by referee Michael Oliver for simulation.
Meanwhile, having already strengthened their defensive ranks by signing Kerkez, Football Insider have exclusively revealed that Liverpool remain confident of signing Marc Guehi, despite rival interest from Manchester City and Real Madrid.
The Reds were set to sign the Crystal Palace and England centre-back on transfer deadline day, but their move for the 25-year-old fell through.
Meanwhile, summer signing Alexander Isak was omitted from Liverpool’s squad against Burnley, but could feature in the Champions League against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday, 17 September.
Having enjoyed an impressively strong start to their Premier League campaign, the Anfield outfit will be keen to begin their European journey in a similar vein of form.
After clashing with Diego Simeone‘s men on home soil, Slot’s side face their first Merseyside Derby of the season on Saturday, 20 September.

Liverpool fans respond to Arne Slot’s decision to sub off Milos Kerkez
Liverpool supporters have been unanimous in their opinions after Kerkez was subbed off in favour of Robertson before the half-time interval.
One fan simply said: “Slot is ruthless“, while another added: “This guy shouldn’t even be starting ahead of Robertson, even (Kostas) Tsimikas before he was shipped off.
“Slot should give him time to earn his spot, and right now he’s no where near Liverpool’s first eleven.”
