Adam Lallana was voted England’s best player of 2016 and Liverpool fans have celebrated the news on Twitter.
The 28-year-old star was voted as the Three Lions’ star player throughout 2016, after making 10 appearances and scoring three goals against the likes of Slovenia, Spain and Scotland.
England revealed their choice on their official Twitter account on Monday morning, which caps off a wonderful year for the former Southampton midfielder.

Lallana has maintained his wonderful form for Liverpool this season, as he continues to provide a creative spark in Jurgen Klopp’s side by having a hand in 14 goals in just 20 league games.
Scoring seven of those himself, Liverpool’s number 20 has also conjured up seven more in assists as he looks to help the Merseyside giants maintain their Premier League title challenge.
Liverpool fans are overjoyed for their 28-time England international on Twitter, with many claiming that Lallana is more than deserving of the award.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Liverpool fans will be hoping that Lallana can end the Reds’ poor run of form on Tuesday night, after winning just once in their last seven league and cup encounters.
On the international front, Lallana will be one of the first names on Gareth Southgate’s England squad list in March to face Germany and Lithuania, if he remains injury free.
In other Liverpool news, Klopp has identified this Spanish goalkeeper to solve his problem area.
