Red hot: James Milner opened the scoring after 55 seconds against Aston Villa

James Milner scored the winner in Liverpool’s 2-1 victory over Swansea on Saturday – and fans took to Twitter to praise the full-back for his goal.

Milner, 30, converted from the spot with just seven minutes of normal time remaining in the clash to seal a fifth win in a row for the Reds.

The result means Liverpool move up to second spot in the Premier League before the remainder of Saturday’s games kick-off.

Supporters on social media were thrilled with the former England international’s composure to score the goal.

The versatile Merseyside ace has been a key player in the Jurgen Klopp revolution over the last 12 months.

Milner has played as a deep lying midfielder, left-winger and now a left-back since his free transfer to Anfield in 2015.

The former Manchester City star replaced Alberto Moreno at left-back earlier in the campaign and has now scored four goals and provided two assists in seven games for Liverpool this term.
