Liverpool fans savage ‘awful’ Ibrahima Konate as ‘horrific’ footage re-analysed
Liverpool fans have been left raging at Ibrahima Konate after what he did during their Premier League clash against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Arne Slot’s side hit a stumbling block in their pursuit of the title after Alexis Mac Allister’s strike was met by goals from Ryan Sessegnon, Alex Iwobi and Rodrigo Muniz to send the hosts into half-time 3-1 up.
The second half saw Luis Diaz give his side some hope when he found the net in the 72nd minute, but the Reds ultimately lost 3-2.
While a number of players failed to impress, it was Konate who came in for the most stick from the travelling supporters after footage of his “horrific” display was shared.
The 25-year-old was at fault for Fulham’s first goal after failing to win a header, while his ability on the ball was called into question after numerous mistakes.
As a result, sections of the Liverpool fanbase have called for the defender to be dropped from Slot’s starting XI and potentially sold in the summer.

Industry insider Mick Brown told Football Insider in February that Liverpool staff are concerned about Konate as a result of his inconsistent performances.
There is a growing feeling at Anfield that the Frenchman could be upgraded upon in the summer, while Slot is not convinced he is the long-term answer in his position.
The likes of Dean Huijsen and Marc Guehi have been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool regardless of the future of Virgil van Dijk, as Konate’s future also remains uncertain.
Alongside the doubts about his abilities, Liverpool have failed to agree terms over a new contract, with his current deal set to expire in 2026.
As a result, they could look to cash in on him this summer in a last-ditch attempt to raise funds from his departure rather than lose him for free.

Konate has been the first-choice centre-back alongside Van Dijk since Slot’s arrival at the club, having featured 35 times so far across all competitions.
However, doubts are beginning to emerge about his long-term role, and fans have now begun calling for his sale when the summer window opens.
Taking to social media during and after the defeat against Fulham, supporters expressed their frustrations as they labelled Konate “horrific” and a “disgrace”.
