Liverpool fans stunned by Trent Alexander-Arnold after what Roy Keane said

Liverpool fans were left stunned by Trent Alexander-Arnold’s performance as England beat Finland 2-0 in their UEFA Nations League clash.

Lee Carsley’s side ran out comfortable winners at Wembley thanks to a brace from Harry Kane on his 100th appearance for the Three Lions.

However, it was Alexander-Arnold’s display which caught the eye of the fans as he put on a passing masterclass, displaying both his range and precision.

He also picked up an assist for Kane’s second, rounding off a performance which has surely cemented his place in future England starting XIs.

Such was the level of his display that even former Man United captain Roy Keane couldn’t help but gush over the danger he posed in attack.

Speaking live on ITV 1 at half-time (10 September, 20:36), Keane shared: “[He was] brilliant. They’ve got to get to Trent if he’s popping up in that position.

We’ve seen him do it all the time. We saw him doing it at the weekend, we saw him doing it for Liverpool. You keep giving Trent that time and space on the ball, eventually he’s going to get through.”

Later, following the game, he continued: “Brilliant, it was an easy night for him. When you give top players time and space on the ball then obviously their decision-making, the type of passes he was making, the pace of the passes…

This pass, not many players can play that. That pass from Trent is absolutely brilliant, and effective.”

Liverpool fans wax lyrical over Trent Alexander-Arnold masterclass v Finland

Alexander-Arnold had been on the fringes of the squad under Gareth Southgate. He was selected for regular football at Euro 2024, but in an unfamiliar role.

Under Carsley, however, he has already been allowed to express his full range of ability from a more recognisable position – and has stunned with his displays.

After a player of the match performance against Finland, supporters have taken to social media to express just how good he was, as they labelled him “unbelievable” and “generational”.
