Liverpool fans urge FSG to sell ‘completely useless’ player after Galatasaray nightmare

Liverpool fell to their second successive defeat, following up their 2-1 loss away at Crystal Palace with a 1-0 defeat at Galatasaray.

Hugo Ekitike returned to Liverpool’s starting 11 while Mohamed Salah fell to the bench with Alexander Isak.

Liverpool lost 2-1 to Crystal Palace in the Premier League, and as a result, Arne Slot rang the changes ahead of their Galatasaray clash.

Arne Slot’s tactics were questioned against Galatasaray as Dominik Szoboszlai was targeted early in the game, giving away a penalty that led to Galatasaray’s winner.

Victor Osimhen was the scorer, with the striker continuing his impressive run of form against English clubs.

Liverpool fans fume over Ibrahima Konate showing

Liverpool’s defending caught the ire of Alan Shearer, who was vocal in his discontent at the way the Premier League champions defended.

One man who was of particular attention to Liverpool fans was defender Ibrahima Konate, who put in a poor showing.

One Liverpool fan called for FSG to get rid of the Frenchman, saying: “Liverpool should sell Konate in January.”

Another called Konate out on his performance and called for Slot to substitute the defender, saying: “Konate has to be brought off, he’s not on it.”

“Please Liverpool, gift wrap Konate to Madrid,” someone else commented while another said: “There is no way Real Madrid or PSG have watched Konate this season and thought ‘now there is a defender we would love to sign on £200k per week and a massive signing on fee.'”

A section of the fanbase also targeted Konate for his poor performance in the Galatasaray box too, saying: “Konate gotta be one of the worst headers of a ball.”

Ibrahima Konate has a howler, but he’s not the only one

Konate was admittedly poor against Galatasaray, but the French centre back was one of a number of subpar Liverpool players.

Ryan Gravenberch wasn’t his usual self, giving the ball away on numerous occasions, while Jeremie Frimpong’s crossing was poor.

As was the case against Crystal Palace, Alisson was called upon on several occasions to save Liverpool in one-on-one situations.

Slot will hope that Konate can bounce back from his poor match, as Liverpool are thin at centre back, already losing Giovanni Leoni this season.
