Liverpool fans on Twitter urge Klopp to recall fringe man to starting XI against Watford

By Will Butcher

Liverpool fans are keen on Twitter to see Daniel Sturridge start against Watford on Monday night at Vicarage Road.

The 27-year-old striker last started back in February against Sunderland, and has had to make do with only substitute appearances since.

However, with only four Premier League games to play, Jurgen Klopp will be desperate to see his side hit the back of the net and earn all three points against Walter Mazzarri’s Hornets.

That could see him choose England star Sturridge to lead his attack away from home, as the former Chelsea and Man City forward is known for his lethal ability to find the back of the net.

This season, Liverpool’s number 15 has scored six times in 26 league and cup encounters as well as laying on a further three assists, but has started only nine games for the Reds.

Liverpool fans urged Klopp to give fringe man Sturridge just his tenth start in all competitions, as the former Borussia Dortmund boss looks for his side to go three points clear in third place.

Liverpool will be hoping for a repeat of the reverse fixture that saw the Reds earn a 6-1 win at home, with the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane all scoring.

In other Liverpool news, John Arne Riise has posted a Twitter message ahead of the Monday night showdown.
