Liverpool fans on social media were stunned by Fernando Torres’ ‘huge’ physical transformation during his appearance in the Legends clash against Ajax.
Anfield hosted an array of legends on Saturday afternoon (23 March) as they rolled back the years in a friendly exhibition match against Ajax.
Sven-Goran Eriksson fulfilled his dream to be Liverpool manager after being invited to sit on the Anfield home bench by current boss Jurgen Klopp.
His side won 4-2 on the evening after goals from Torres, Gregory Vignal, Djibril Cisse and Nabil El Zhar helped to overturn a two-goal deficit in the second half.
Torres, who spent four years in Merseyside and scored 81 goals, started and led the line for Liverpool in a team that also included former teammate and captain Steven Gerrard.

The Spaniard enjoyed a goalscoring return to Liverpool after netting the final goal of the match in front of the Kop with just five minutes remaining.
Fans on social media were in disbelief at Torres’ new physique and some supporters called for the club to re-sign the Spanish forward.
Torres enjoyed a 19-year career before hanging up his boots following a brief stint with Japanese side Sagan Tosu.
