Liverpool fear Mohamed Salah contract negotiations stalling amid source reveal – pundit
Liverpool have signed Luis Diaz because talks over Mohamed Salah’s new contract may collapse, according to Danny Mills.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Man City and England full-back claimed Liverpool are thinking of life after Salah and Sadio Mane.
A Reds source told Football Insider yesterday (5 February) the club are confident of securing Salah to a new contract when he returns from the Africa Cup of Nations.

Mane and Salah will both be out of contract at the end of next season.
Diaz moved from FC Porto in the January window for an initial £xmillion fee and made his debut in the 3-1 win to Cardiff City today (6 February).
“He could be a back up for both Salah and Mane,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“He’s a player that can easily adapt and play on either wing.
“They’ve got Diogo Jota up there as well. There will be a little bit of thinking ‘What is life after Salah and Mane? What comes next?’
“It’s good business, good business planning and good recruitment.
“If you look at the best teams and the best recruiters they don’t often buy for the now or six months down the line, they buy for a year, 18 months time. They have these people lined up.
“That’s what they’ve done. He’s a good player but it’s also a back up in case something goes wrong with the Salah or the Mane deals.”

Diaz scored 41 times and provided 19 assists in 125 games across all competitions for Porto.
The 25-year-old had 14 goals in 18 league games this season before his move to Liverpool.
In other news, Liverpool are holding talks over a February deal after personal terms are agreed.
