Liverpool game-changer as club close to agreeing marquee deal – pundit
Kevin Campbell has insisted the appointment of a new club doctor at Liverpool will not mean an immediate resolution of their injury problems.
The former Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested it is now the Reds’ time to “suffer” with injury problems after getting off scot-free in recent seasons.
On the eve of the new season (1 August), Liverpool confirmed former club doctor Jim Moxon had departed the Merseysiders to pursue new challenges.

According to the Liverpool Echo (24 October), the Merseysiders are pressing ahead with their search for a replacement – as “debate” rages about the fitness of Jurgen Klopp’s players.
It is claimed that Head of Academy medical Bevin McCartan and club physician Sarah Lindsay have temporarily assumed the primary medical duties within the senior squad.
A number of Liverpool stars, including Ibrahima Konate, Naby Keita, Luis Diaz, and Diogo Jota, are currently on the treatment table.
Campbell told Football Insider: “Don’t forget that the doctor is someone who looks at the injuries once they happen.
“There will be doctors at the club but there just isn’t a head of that department right now.
“Over the last four or five years, Liverpool have been right up there with Man City as one of the most consistent teams in the world.
“You’re going to pick up injuries at some stage.
“They’ve got away without major injuries for a while now – barring Van Dijk.

“Now we’re seeing some problems in the centre of midfield, and unfortunately – it’s just Liverpool’s time to suffer now as other clubs have.
“I don’t think a club doctor is going to make too much difference to the injury record.”
