Liverpool hatch new Fabio Carvalho transfer plan – sources
Liverpool boss Arne Slot will give Fabio Carvalho the chance to impress in pre-season, sources have told Football Insider.
It is believed no immediate decision is due on the future of the 21-year-old at Anfield.
Carvalho played in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Preston last week (19 July) and will be given the chance to feature in Liverpool’s tour of the United States.
It is believed a decision will be made on the forward’s future once Slot and his squad return to Merseyside.
Carvalho fell out of favour with Jurgen Klopp last season and was sent out on loan to RB Leipzig and Hull City.
He struggled for regular game time in Germany but notched nine goals and two assists in 20 Championship games with the Tigers in the second half of the 2023-24 campaign.
Liverpool undecided on Carvalho future – Slot gives him chance to impress
The Portugal Under-21 international joined Liverpool from Fulham in 2022 and signed a five-year deal at Anfield.
He has hit three goals in 21 senior appearances for the Reds to date but started in just eight of those outings.

Liverpool have already allowed right-back Calvin Ramsey to leave on loan for Wigan this summer, while Thiago, Joel Matip and Adrian have departed on free transfers.
Slot’s side will play in the league phase of the Champions League this season.
