Liverpool have already scouted one of Europe’s ‘greatest talents’ likened to Kylian Mbappe

Liverpool flexed their financial muscles in the summer by spending over £460million, and yet, Arne Slot is still eyeing fresh faces.

The Reds thought they’d won the transfer window when big-money fees were laid out for Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike.

Whilst Ekitike has impressed at Liverpool after joining from Eintracht Frankfurt, Isak and Wirtz haven’t hit the ground running at Anfield.

Isak has been nursing a groin injury of late after failing to score in the Premier League. Meanwhile, Wirtz hasn’t found a settled spot in Slot’s starting lineup, having operated as a left winger, attacking midfielder and right winger.

That is why the Merseyside giants have been scouring Europe for some of the most promising wingers, including someone from Germany.

Liverpool have scouted RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande

When Liverpool sold Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich, it wasn’t taken into consideration how much the Reds would miss the Colombian storming down the left flank.

Diaz was influential during his three years at Anfield, returning 41 goals and 23 assists in 148 appearances for the club.

The 28-year-old also delivered 20 goal involvements in the Premier League last term, something they haven’t replaced despite spending over £460m.

It’s made even more heartbreaking that Diaz has hit the ground running at Bayern with 11 goals in 17 matches across all competitions, including three strikes in the Champions League.

So, with Slot crying out for a direct replacement on the left flank, Liverpool are one of many European giants scouting RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande.

That is according to SportBILD, who claim that the 18-year-old is on the radar of PSG, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City and Chelsea.

Due to him being labelled one of Europe’s ‘greatest talents’ as an explosive left winger, Diomande has already been likened to Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele, two of the best in world football.

What Liverpool fans need to know about Diomande

Whilst it is claimed there are no plans to cash in on their prized asset, it feels only a matter of time before he’s playing for one of continent’s powerhouses.

Leipzig triggered the teenager’s 20m (£17.6m) release clause in July, capturing him from Spanish side Leganes.

Since then, he’s produced data that places him among some of Europe’s best wingers, combining his electric pace with a ruthless end product.

Alongside five goal involvements in 10 Bundesliga appearances, Diomande ranks in the top one per cent for progressive carries, the top one per cent for successful take-ons, and the top five per cent for touches in the opposition penalty area, as per FBref.

Diomande already looks like the perfect successor to Diaz, although Liverpool will have to fork out mega money to land him.
