Liverpool have landed ‘next Harvey Elliott’ as footage emerges – expert
Jurgen Klopp is “not scared” to throw Ben Doak straight into the Liverpool team and he has a big future at the club.
That is according to ex-Premier League and Scotland defender Alan Hutton, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, as he likened Doak to another Anfield wonderkid Harvey Elliott.
Doak, 17, has been impressing Klopp during their mid-season break in Dubai and even claimed his first assist for the Reds in their 4-1 friendly win over AC Milan on Friday by setting up Darwin Nunez.
The winger, signed from Celtic in the summer, was given his first team debut as a substitute in the Reds’ cup game against Derby County where they narrowly defeated the Rams on penalties.
Hutton suggested Klopp will be willing to give Doak a bigger chance in the second half of the season.
“If all goes well there will be opportunities for him to get game time,” he told Football Insider.
“Bobby Clark as well is another youngster that has come in on their mini pre-season and really produced and done well.
“They have got some talented boys coming through which I like to see. They are picking the best players from round about but ultimately you want to see them make the first team.

“I think there will be opportunities if things go well for them to get game time. If they are away with the first team and pulling their weight then age is just a number.
“Klopp threw Elliott in no problem at such a young age. He is not scared to do that. These players will look at Elliott and think if he can do it then so can they.“
