Liverpool hold surprise advantage in Antoine Semenyo transfer race ahead of Man United
Liverpool look set to join Tottenham and Manchester United in the race for Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo next summer.
The Premier League champions have been courting several Premier League talents this season, according to reports, with Liverpool eyeing a move for Marc Guehi.
Semenyo impressed Jamie Redknapp as Bournemouth beat Fulham 3-1, with the Ghanaian scoring two and assisting the other goal for the Cherries.
The winger has impressed this season, scoring six goals and adding three assists to his tally already this season in just seven games.

Liverpool’s Richard Hughes has connections with Antoine Semenyo
Manchester United and Tottenham battled for Bryan Mbeumo in the summer, and it appears both will be interested in signing Semenyo next summer as well.
Alex Crook of talkSPORT has now revealed they won’t be the only ones interested as Liverpool circle the wideman as well.
Crook wrote: “As previously revealed in this Notebook, the Ghana international held talks with Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United before opting to sign a new deal in Dorset.
“It is believed both those clubs continue to monitor Semenyo’s incredible rise from the EFL to Premier League sensation.
“Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes is also a big admirer of Semenyo, having signed him from Bristol City for a bargain £10.5million.“
Hughes was responsible for giving Semenyo his big break, paying a big fee for the Ghanaian winger out of the Championship, signing him from Bristol City.
With the two having dealt together previously, it surely puts Liverpool in pole position to sign Semenyo when the chance arises in the summer.
Bournemouth up the price for scintillating Semenyo
Bournemouth were ransacked last summer with Milos Kerkez, Dean Huijsen and Ilya Zabarnyi all leaving the club.
The Cherries won’t want the same thing to happen again this summer, and talents like Semenyo and Alex Scott will likely receive hefty price tags, something Crook hinted at in his report.
Antoine Semenyo’s scoring record | Goals | Club(s) |
2018-19 | 3 | Newport County/Bristol City |
2019-20 | 0 | Sunderland/Bristol City |
2020-21 | 2 | Bristol City |

Crook revealed: “Bournemouth believe Semenyo, 25, is now worth north of £75m having already scored six league goals, second only behind Erling Haaland, and claimed three assists this season.”
While United, Tottenham, Liverpool and a host of other clubs battle out for Semenyo’s signature, Bournemouth will be hoping he can deliver European football for Andoni Iraola’s side when the league finishes in May 2026.
