Liverpool face stiff Angel Gomes competition as transfer mission revealed
Gomes made the move following his release from Man United to Lille in 2020 and has gone on to make 118 appearances, scoring eight times.
He earned his first England call-up under interim manager Lee Carsley, coming off the bench to make his debut in their 2-0 win over the Republic of Ireland.
His debut made him the first player to be based in France to play for England since Trevor Steven all the way back in 1992.

It was a relatively quiet transfer window for Arne Slot with Liverpool only signing two new first-team players in Federico Chiesa and Giorgi Mamardashvili.
Despite the lack of transfer activity, it’s been a lightning start to life at Anfield for the Dutchman, winning all three of their opening Premier League games without conceding a goal.
