Liverpool are in 'big trouble' after potentially 'catastrophic' Mane update from Romano - pundit
Liverpool are in “big trouble” as Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah approach the final 18 months of their contracts, according to Kevin Campbell.
The former Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted losing the pair, both 29, would be “catastrophic” for the Reds.
Fabrizio Romano told the Here We Go Podcast (November 23rd) that Liverpool are preparing to make first contact with Mane and his representatives regarding new terms at the club.
As revealed by Football Insider last month, Anfield chiefs have set a deadline of January 1st for tying Salah down to a new deal – with the Egyptian demanding £500,000-per-week.
Both forwards are out of contract at the end of next season.
Salah and Mane have been instrumental in Liverpool’s Premier League and Champions League triumphs in recent years.

Campbell insisted contracts for the world-beating pair should have been signed “six to 12 months ago”.
“If I’m honest, I think Liverpool are in big trouble,” he told Football Insider.
“It needed to be sorted out six to 12 months ago.
“You do not let Sadio Mane and Mo Salah run their contracts down to just 18 months at this point in their careers.
“We may be surprised in the summer, they might re-sign – but if you lose both of them, wow. When they’re on their game, they can unhinge any team in the world.
“Losing one is tough but losing both would be catastrophic. They won’t be the same team at all without them.”
Salah leads the Premier League scoring charts with 11 goals from 12 matches this season.
Mane is second in the race for the Golden Boot, scoring seven league goals this term.
