Expert issues Harvey Elliott claim after £25m Liverpool bid submitted
Kevin Campbell has suggested Liverpool won’t sign a new star forward this summer even if Sadio Mane leaves the club.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker suspects any arrival would “not be a starter” at Anfield next season.
Mane has just 12 months remaining on his contract on Merseyside.

It has been widely reported that the Senegal international has chosen to leave the club amid interest from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
According to The Times‘ Paul Joyce (5 June), the Reds have rejected an opening offer of £25million from Bayern Munich.
When asked by Football Insider if the Reds would move to replace Mane this summer, Campbell said: “Liverpool have [Diogo] Jota, [Mohamed] Salah, [Luis] Diaz, [Harvey] Elliott and [Fabio] Carvalho.
“Do they really need to replace Mane? Will Carvalho start?
“They might look to bring another in but that player might not be a starter.
“I just think this is the changing of the guard that Liverpool fans don’t want to see. It happens sometimes though. Players are getting on in age and players need a new challenge.
“To replace that goal output is going to be hard. It is going to be really hard. That front three have been unbelievable for Liverpool.”

Mane has contributed 120 goals and 48 assists in 269 games for Liverpool.
He moved to Anfield from Southampton in July 2016.
