Liverpool land ‘missing piece of the jigsaw’ after source’s Romeo Lavia update – Agbonlahor
Romeo Lavia is the “missing piece of the jigsaw” for Liverpool and will complete the transformation of a failing midfield whose “legs had gone”.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has claimed the Southampton midfielder would be the next ideal midfield signing for the Reds.
On 8 July, Football Insider revealed that Klopp’s side are convinced Lavia wants to join them over other suitors this summer.
The Merseysiders have been in talks to lure the midfielder from St Mary’s but are facing competition from Premier League sides including Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City as well as Spanish giants Barcelona.
Liverpool are interested in adding another big-money midfielder signing after already securing the services of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and Diminik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig.
With a potential move to Liverpool on the cards, Agbonlahor believes that Lavia would be the signing that enhances the Reds’ next season.
“Lavia is the missing part of the jigsaw,” he told Football Insider.
“Liverpool need a defensive midfielder who can get the ball back, have legs and can also play and set off attacks.
“The Reds really need that because Fabinho’s legs are gone.
“They can start a new season and say their three centre midfielders are new signings, which is what everyone has been saying they need.

“So if they’ve got Lavia over the line then a whole rebuild has been done.
“Their attack speaks for themselves, alongside their defence which is very strong.”
