Liverpool make contact for left-sided flyer who dazzled in 17/18 season - report
Liverpool have made contact with French giants Paris Saint-Germain about the possibility of signing attacker Goncalo Guedes, according to a report.
Read Liverpool claims that the Reds have enquired about bringing the left-sided to Anfield next year and including the option to buy in the deal.
It is understood that the Portugal international is not a priority signing for manager Jurgen Klopp, but he is keen to strengthen his squad ahead of next year.
Guedes, 21, dazzled in the 2017/18 season on loan at La Liga giants Valencia and is renowned for his pace and trickery.
Football Insider verdict:
Liverpool could be right in the mix for silverware across the board if their summer spending continues in the same way it has started, which is why Guedes would be a strong addition. The youngster would help bolster options in the final third of the pitch and could rotate with lightning quick Sadio Mane. Guedes showed his huge potential during his time with Valencia, scoring six goals and supplying 11 assists in 40 appearances across all competitions. He looks like having all the attributes to succeed in the Premier League and Klopp’s attacking style of football would make it a perfect blend. Liverpool obviously have their dynamic front three that can match up to anyone in Europe this season, but beyond them the lack of depth has perhaps cost them in crucial moments. Rivals Manchester City had the likes of Bernardo Silva to bring off the bench in their games and that is the level of squad depth they need to try achieve.
