Liverpool medics ‘concerned’ about Alisson Becker after crushing blow
Alisson Becker’s injury record is becoming “concerning” to the Liverpool medical team, sources have told Football Insider.
The 32-year-old goalkeeper hurt his hamstring during Liverpool’s 1-0 win against Crystal Palace this past Saturday (5 October), with Arne Slot having to replace him.
No official diagnosis has been given on Becker’s injury, but the Premier League giants have revealed that he will undergo further assessment to determine the severity of the problem.
Considering how much football Liverpool’s first-choice goalkeeper has missed, the situation is starting to become concerning for the club.
The Brazil international has missed 40 games for the Reds during the past five seasons, which is more than any other goalkeeper in the league.
Caoimhin Kelleher is expected to be given the opportunity to stake a claim for a place in the team while Becker recovers.
Liverpool are already planning for the future past Alisson Becker
The injury record of Becker is something the club are aware of, which is why they agreed a deal to sign Giorgi Mamardashvili.
The Georgia international will head to Anfield ahead of the 2025-26 campaign, and he is set to prove some competition to Becker.
Slot still views the experienced goalkeeper as his first choice when fit, but next season he will have more competition for the spot.

Liverpool have several important fixtures coming up after the international break as the Reds are set to face Chelsea, RB Leipzig, and Arsenal in their first week back.
Slot’s team currently boasts the best defensive record in the Premier League and sit top of the table.
