Liverpool star Milos Kerkez responds to former teammate’s transfer
Liverpool have enjoyed a successful summer transfer window so far, including the addition of former Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez.
Kerkez deservedly established a reputation as one of the best fullbacks in the Premier League by notching two goals and five assists in 38 top-flight outings last term.
The 21-year-old featured in Liverpool’s pre-season victory over Preston on Sunday, 13 July, and is vying to displace Andy Robertson as the starting left-back in Arne Slot’s team.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are closing in on Hugo Ekitike as Slot turns his attention to bolstering his attack ahead of next term.

Liverpool new boy Kerkez responds as Sam Beukema joins Napoli
Similarly to defending Premier League champions Liverpool, Napoli are strengthening their squad after winning the Serie A title last term.
Antonio Conte’s men have added further quality to their backline by signing Sam Beukema from Coppa Italia champions Bologna.
Beukema revealed his delight at joining Napoli via Instagram on Sunday, 20 July: “Hello there you are! So excited to be a part of this great club! I can’t wait to hear your passion. Let’s get to work!”
The 26-year-old’s message received a like from his former AZ Alkmaar teammate Kerkez, who also commented with a red heart emoji.
Slot must sell either Andy Robertson or Kostas Tsimikas after Kerkez addition
Football Insider verdict
There is no doubt that Kerkez’s signature brings plenty of quality to Anfield, and the Hungary international should thrive by playing with higher-class teammates than his former colleagues at Bournemouth.

Meanwhile, Liverpool need strength in depth as they look to retain their Premier League crown while also competing for other silverware, such as the Champions League.
However, Slot is unlikely to be able to keep three left-backs happy, so he should look to move on either Andy Robertson or Kostas Tsimikas this summer.
Tsimikas already made just 18 Premier League appearances last season, thanks to the presence of Robertson, and the addition of Kerkez has effectively relegated the Greek international to Slot’s third-choice left-back.
Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid have eyed a move for Robertson, which would help Liverpool retain the former Olympiacos man, who has also attracted transfer interest, as their back-up option, behind new boy Kerkez.
Elsewhere, Federico Chiesa has been tipped to make an Anfield exit in a Liverpool News 247 exclusive, after being left out of the Reds’ squad for their pre-season tour of Asia.
